WHAT IS THE GDG TECH SESSIONS?
Due to the constraints felt global due to the new pandemic, we were forced to change the way we share knowledge with our community. At this time, and due to the imposition placed on respecting social isolation, the only way out is to turn events online. For that reason, the time available for all organizations to prepare for this new reality was concise, and we want to share, with each community, the opportunity to join us in this event!
In this very difficult moment, we will join forces and share relevant content for our entire community, sharing the event online with everyone, regardless of their community. So, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have the GDG Tech Sessions! All host events under this online movement will be available here.
HOW THE EVENTS ARE GOING TO BE SHARED?
All the events under the GDG Tech Session initiative will be hosted on this Youtube channel. Also, to spread these events through the community, we are present in several social networks — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram —-, with a landing page to gather all the information needed.
Feel free to share the event in your community: for each event, we have available social snippets facilitating the GDGs to help with the communication on social media! #gdgtechsessions
HOW WILL EACH EVENT BE BRANDED?
In order to give visibility to other groups, the branding might be GDG Tech Talks – GDG <chapter> Edition (the GDG co-hoster), recognizing the participation of a specific GDG.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR AN EVENT?
During this social isolation period, any WTM, DSC, or GDG chapter can apply to host an event open to the entire global technological community for a day, proposing a topic and the speaker — that could be from or outside the GDG. We are just here to support you during the event, from communication until the broadcasting. Consider that you can always co-host the event with other local GDG chapters. Right now, we need to be together more than ever! Have fun!
HOW CAN I PROPOSE AN EVENT?
Through this form, you can choose one of the topics you want to address and join this online initiative.
HOW THE CONTENTS WILL BE SELECTED?
Through the content committee, where we will going to invite other organizers to select content by the following criteria:
- Availability of dates and topics, balancing the technical complexity of the talks, assuming general public;
- Only one event will be hosted for each day and we can’t have the same topic in consecutive days;
- Google tech i.e. android, flutter, lite-elements, PWA, machine learning, cloud computing…
- Diversity — it can be non-related with Google technologies.
WHO CAN ENROL AT THIS EVENT?
EVERYONE CAN JOIN US!If you have any questions, reach at host organizers by sending a message firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM TIME FOR EACH SESSION?
For each talk, we recommend 30 minutes + 10 minutes of Q&A for each speaker. If it’s needed more time, guest GDG should express its intentions to the content committee.
I’M AVAILABLE TO BE A SPEAKER BUT I DON’T BELONG TO ANY GDG CHAPTER. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
We recommend that you enter in contact with the nearest GDG chapter and share to them your intention. See all the chapters here.
